About Us
Our History
We started the programme in 1989 with 17 Children , and were running the programme at Holy Cross Anglican Church, Phahameng, Bloemfontein.
Following the visit of Mrs V.T. Sondiyazi in Germany, she identified funding opportunity from K.N.H (KINDER NOT HILFE ) organisation and applied for funding. K.N.H provided funding to build a six classroom facility that can accommodate up to 180 children. The Free State Department of Public works topped up the budget for the building.
Khanyiso Pre – School was built in 1996 and started to work in January 1997. For the first 5 years K.N.H also provided operational budget ( Food and Stipends for workers).
Currently the facility operates from school fees paid by parents and the subsidy for operational costs from the Free State Department of Education.
The early childhood development programme at Khanyiso Pre – School was initiated by Mrs Vinnie T. Sondiyazi and Canon Rev Goodwin P.N. Sondiyazi.
After the passing away of Mrs V.T. Sondiyazi , Khanyiso Pre – School was managed by her son Mr Lulamile A.Sondiyazi up to May of 2021. Currently the ECD is managed by her daughter Ms Nozipo C. Sondiyazi.
